Started in the first RTW closed beta as enforcer, but got bored very quickly, rerolled crim and fell in love with how much more exciting it was. Aaaand thus my character Syren was born. 🙂
Nerd Lore for my character (yes I wrote a backstory ):
Sinya Markova, aka Syren, is a Russian-born American woman whose family moved to San Paro when she was very little, establishing themselves as small business owners in order to give their children a better life. Growing up around her grandfather’s humble auto shop and surrounded with brothers, Syren became obsessed with cars and the rockabilly culture from an early age, helping around the garage and riding in her brothers’ cars.
After graduating high-school as a star athlete, Syren decided to join the Marines, much to her parents’ chagrin. Not to be deterred, she was convinced she’d make a difference (and pay for college doing it!) Witnessing years of violence and blood all over the world, she was discharged and didn’t bother to finish school. Having found herself jaded and with a wealth of the talents and skills a soldier needs, she spent a few more years as a soldier for a private firm, the Code Killers.
Growing sick of war, she headed to home soil. Her family had all but abandoned her due to their disagreement with the US involvement in global conflicts, only her dead grandfather having given her anything- the title to his auto shop, along with all his debts, which her savings just barely covered. Three years later, Syren was struggling to make a civilian living when Mayor Jane Derren passed the City Security Act and the Code Killers came to San Paro. The decision to join back up was trivial.
(grats if you made it through all of that! I never said it’d be particularly interesting… 😛 )
Previous guilds / clans / teams/ units:
Rusty Spades (in CB)
In-game strengths / weaknesses:
Like… besides being totally awesome?
In-game preferred roles Primary and secondary (close combat, recon/sniper, Driver, etc):
I am pretty comfortable in any role, although I prefer mid range support and CQC, <3 my shotty
Out of game strengths / skills which may be an addition to the Code Killers:
I like doing a lot of out of game stuff for the clan, mostly exploring my creative side, making tattoos and designs/symbols for clanmates, also I love to make videos, I find the editing and all that stuff to be really fun and worthwhile! It’s great to have something like that you can share with clanmates.
Why did I join Code Killers?
Once I rolled crim, I loved it so much that I started playing Syren fulltime. I joined up with a cool and skilled clan called the Rusty Spades, who were definitely legit. That was when I met Apex, I think around when CK was just first starting up. He was one of the few really cool people I bumped into in APB who could play a game against you that was really tough, and still be cool in IMs, so we stayed in touch.
When I joined up for the second RTW closed beta, Rusty Spades didn’t roll because I guess a lot of them were doubtful that they wanted to buy the game and blah blah blah, so I started talking to Apex and joined up with CK, and when the game went live, the Spades ended up rolling on a different server and I didn’t even find out about it till later, and the rest is history.
I consider myself super lucky to join CK because I’ve made a bunch of really good friends here, it’s really more of a family. I love hanging out in vent and teasing people, which is kinda what I do. This is one of the only guilds/clans that I’ve been a part of and gone way out of my way to stay in contact outside of game and hook up in other MMOs and stuff because they really are just that cool.
